How Much Does a Wedding Planner Cost in Delhi?

Ask five planners in Delhi what they charge and you will get five different answers — because they are not selling the same thing. Understanding what drives the fee helps you compare like with like.
The three pricing models
Flat planning fee — a fixed amount for a defined scope (full planning, partial planning, or wedding-week management). This is the most transparent model and the one most premium planners use.
Percentage of budget — typically 8–15% of the total wedding spend. It scales with ambition but can create odd incentives, so ask how the budget itself is agreed.
Commission-only — the planner is "free" but earns margins from vendors. It can work, but insist on transparency about where commissions exist.
What actually moves the number
- Guest count and days. A 200-guest, two-function wedding and a 700-guest, four-day celebration are different universes of logistics.
- Venue type. A hotel ballroom includes infrastructure; a farmhouse or palace often needs everything built — power, flooring, kitchens, security.
- Décor ambition. Floral density, custom fabrication and lighting design are usually the largest single variable.
- Entertainment. A DJ for one evening versus a produced sangeet with choreographed family performances, live artists and concert-grade sound are wildly different line items.
- Hospitality. Room blocks, transport fleets and concierge teams scale directly with outstation guests.
Sensible ranges to plan around
For a professionally planned Delhi wedding, families typically work within broad bands: intimate celebrations from the mid-lakhs; premium multi-function weddings in the ₹30–60 lakh range; and luxury or destination celebrations well above ₹1 crore. Planning fees themselves are usually a fraction of the total — and a good planner saves more than their fee in vendor pricing, avoided mistakes and negotiation.
